왈스타드 수조를 들 때 들인 모든 시행착오는 상토를 써서 생긴 문제였다. 상토에 섞인 피트모스와 마사토는 반드시 물에 뜬다. 그간 나는 수초를 심을 때 핀셋에 의해 생기는 틈을 통해 물 위로 떠오른 바닥재를 걷어내는 기간의 불편함을 줄이기 위해 모래를 깔았다. 배양토만 쓰면 자갈이 덮어주는 정도로 충분한가 싶다. 새로 수조를 만들 일도 없고 배양토만 더 구매할 일이 없어서 시험은 안 했다. #물생활 #관상어 ##WalstadM
왈스타드 방식 수조가 혐기성 박테리아 환경을 조성한다길래 상토가 높을 수록 좋은가 싶었는데 아니었다! 산소가 희박한 부분적 혐기성인 anoxic을 조성해 질산염은 제거하고 이산화탄소를 만드는 이점만 취한다고....... 그러하니 토양층이 완전히 밀봉되어 산소가 전혀 없는 상태가 되는 것을 피하기 위해 자갈을 권하는 것. 자갈 대신 모래를 쓴다면 자갈 보다 얇은 얇게 약 1.5 ~ 2.5 cm 정도만 깔아야하는 듯. 호기성 박테
