What “artio” means
WikipediaArtio was a bear goddess in the religion of the ancient Celts. Her name comes from the Gaulish word for 'bear', arto-, and she is attested among two Gaulish peoples, the Helvetii and the Treveri. She is known from two Latin dedications and from a Roman-period bronze statuette group found at Muri, near Bern, which shows her seated before a bear. The bronze is now in the Bern Historical Museum.
