My first finished video in two years! I long ago got this idea to use convex hulls to create chords and I've now, finally, got a video finished using the idea. I hope you like it! https://vimeo.com/1211123454 #video #math #mathematics #conv
FWIW: I built a little C# tool for my 2D shmup: ColliderGen generates convex-hull colliders from sprite PNGs, including animation strips. It supports both tight hitboxes and outer-fitting colliders for walls: https://github.com/shendriks/co
Has anyone ever had a programming/maths problem that they think is cool/interesting, but never really got around to solving? Came across mention of some ray-tracing paper recently and I am reminded of one of mine (idea that I'd been putting
What “convexhull” means
WikipediaIn geometry, the convex hull, convex envelope or convex closure of a shape is the smallest convex set that contains it. The convex hull may be defined either as the intersection of all convex sets containing a given subset of a Euclidean space, or equivalently as the set of all convex combinations of points in the subset. For a bounded subset of the plane, the convex hull may be visualized as the shape enclosed by a rubber band stretched around the subset.

every network with a public tag surfaceFollow #convexhull straight to each platform’s own tag page. Where a platform publishes open data we measure it above; the rest lock their numbers behind paid APIs, so we link rather than guess.
