What “corewars” means
WikipediaCore War is a 1984 programming game created by D. G. Jones and A. K. Dewdney. In the game, two or more battle programs, known as warriors, compete for control of a virtual computer. These programs are written in an abstract assembly language called Redcode. Initial standards for Redcode and the virtual machine were established by the International Core Wars Society (ICWS), with later revisions shaped by community consensus.
