A prairie hike today #alberta #hike #elkwater
Today’s hike was at #CypressHillsInterprovincialPark near #Elkwater. Lovely place, and very different from the Badlands we’ve now left behind us! There are many cycling-friendly paths too, which was a nice surprise.
This year we got an inflatable kayak to take on our camping trips. It was the best purchase I’ve made in years. My wife, myself and our two dogs can all fit and paddle about for a couple hours and just enjoy the day. #dogs #dogsofmastodon #
What “elkwater” means
WikipediaElkwater is an unincorporated community at the western edge of the Cypress Hills in southeastern Alberta, Canada, 65 kilometres (40 mi) southeast of Medicine Hat. The main access route is via Alberta Highway 41, which leads south from the Trans-Canada Highway.
