#hydrogen101 NOx emissions are a major problem with all hydrogen internal combustion engines, including turboprops. Besides NO and NO2, they often emit N2O. GWP100 of N2O is 265-300x higher than CO2. I doubt China is using SCR to limit NOx.
On-site solar PV, 32MW PEM electrolyzer using reclaimed mine water, 41hr of hydrogen storage in steel tanks, running #H2 through 7.5MW PEM fuel cells, all installed on a Questa, NM brownfield site! Now that's a long-duration energy storage
Hey peeps, any comment on why the 8MW Calistoga hydrogen fuel cell microgrid doesn't include auto-bumpless transfer for grid to islanded microgrid mode if the T&D line goes down? FCW appears to say it only works on a PSPS event signal from
What “fuelcell” means
WikipediaA fuel cell is an electrochemical cell that converts the chemical energy of a fuel and an oxidizing agent into electricity through a pair of redox reactions. Fuel cells are different from most batteries in requiring a continuous source of fuel and oxygen to sustain the chemical reaction, whereas in a battery the chemical energy usually comes from substances that are already present in the battery. Fuel cells can produce electricity continuously for as long as fuel and oxygen are supplied.
