@Bette Sorry, I have read a *lot* of SF including plenty of '60s SF but I don't know that one. I boosted it and I'm replying mostly to add the hashtag someone in my feed recently proposed: #IdentifyThisBook
Over the years I've noted quite a few searches for childhood, etc. books where the title had been forgotten. Suggesting perhaps the Fediverse use a #hashtag like #IdentifyThisBook or something similar? What a fun mystery hunt for sure.
