What “jruby” means
WikipediaJRuby is an implementation of the programming language Ruby on the Java virtual machine, written largely in Java. It is free software released under a three-way Eclipse Public License (EPL); GNU General Public License (GPL), GNU Lesser Public License (LGPL). JRuby is tightly integrated with Java to allow embedding the interpreter into any Java application with full two-way access between Java and Ruby code.
