Remember this #keiki that may or may not be a keiki? I was hoping when it got bigger I would be able to tell exactly what it is, but I'm still not sure. Hope it's a flower spike. 🤷♀️ Some type of Dendrobium #orchid
When this first began growing I thought it was a flower bud, but no, it's a keiki! I divided this plant and repotted it, guess that stressed it enough to make more plants. #growallthethings #plants #houseplants #orchid #keiki
I love Hawaii. I wish I could visit in 1935, or then-abouts. #Hawaii #Love Me Ke #Aloha #Aina #Keiki
What “keiki” means
WikipediaIn horticulture, a keiki is a plant produced asexually by an orchid plant, especially Dendrobium, Epidendrum, and Phalaenopsis orchids. The baby plant is an exact clone of the mother plant, sometimes flowering while still attached to the mother. The word keiki is Hawaiian for 'baby' or 'child', literally meaning 'the little one'.
