Here is a citronella ant, one of the most aromatic of all insects. I really love these things. New photo from western New York. #Ants #Insects #lasius
I love how this queen Lasius arizonicus ant is smooth like glass. She’s a social parasite who , after dropping her wings, sneaks into existing ant colonies, kills the resident queen, and takes over. So much drama. #Lasius #Ants #Insects
Found a Lasius neoniger queen on the sports field so I moved her to a safer place. Fed her some water. Hope she can survive the winter! She is so beautiful #ant #Lasius #queen
