What “liesse” means
WikipediaLiesse-Notre-Dame is a commune in the Aisne department in Hauts-de-France in northern France. In the Middle Ages, the village near Laon developed around the cult of the Black Virgin, known as Notre-Dame de Liesse. Pope Pius IX granted the Marian image a decree of canonical coronation on 18 August 1857.
