Morpeth's Oldgate Bridge, Northumberland, pictured spanning the River Wansbeck on a summer's afternoon. The crossing dates from 1963 and replaced an older bridge which was damaged during floods. The bridge is at the northern end of Morpeth
A week to the day since the summer solstice and after spending last Sunday on a hike around Hexham, decided to head back up into Northumberland for a mooch around Morpeth. This has to be one of my favourite views of the historic market town
One of my favourite photos, partly because the council have now iron-fenced this grave off and, IMHO, turned it into a Victorian look-don't-touch memorial, kept apart from the people. It had so much more of a "she was one of us" feel to it
