I think the real reason I could never remember is that I didn't want to. It sucks that I have to write ω² + ω·2 + 1 instead of ω² + 2ω + 1. We should all agree that 2ω, written without a dot, is an abbreviation for ω·2. That won't be confus
After years of mixing up 2·ω (which is equal to ω, and so uninteresting) and ω·2 (which isn't) I have at last thought of a sure way to remember which is which: ω·2 is the one I want, just as ω+2 is, and for the same reason. Sheesh. #ordinal
