I went on a sketching trip to Chester Cathedral today, and although it's quite rough, I'm pleased with this. I'm looking for images of founders to help me develop the picture of #Rahere for when I get to stitch him. #MedievalMoversAndShaker
I did this sketch from a very old Pièta in the church. I think she will help me with the Lady Julian, when I get to her. I'm also planning on developing a model of the first StBarts from a plan in a book I have. So glad I've put effort into
What “rahere” means
WikipediaRahere, or Raher or Raherius, was a 12th-century Anglo-Norman priest and later canon regular. He was a favourite of King Henry I and is most famous for having founded St Bartholomew's Priory and the Hospital of St Bartholomew in 1123.
