What “saltmarshe” means
WikipediaSaltmarshe is a hamlet and former civil parish, now in the parish of Laxton, in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It is situated on the north bank of the River Ouse, downstream from York, Selby and Goole. Saltmarshe is approximately 3 miles (5 km) south-east from Howden and 21 miles (34 km) south-east from York. In 1931 the parish had a population of 82.
