What “socrealism” means
WikipediaSocialist realism, also known as socrealism, is a style of idealized realistic art that was developed in the Soviet Union and was the official cultural doctrine, as well as in other socialist countries in the aftermath of World War II. The movement, in contrast to forms of avant-garde non-representational, stylized, or symbolic art, was based around a idealized photorealistic recreation of historic events, with a goal of advancing the socialist mission through inspirational imagery.
