C23 makes it so that standard library symbol names are conditionally reserved only when you include their respective headers, but you still can't always be sure that a standard header wasn't transitively included. I have a modest proposal `
@amdg2 aha, right, good point about conditional includes! And the same defer mechanism would be just as useful for undefining macros. So, I imagine something like this: // in stdlib.h #define __cplusplus #include <algorithm> #defer #undef _
@bugaevc yep, defer would act at the end of the file, otherwise you wouldn't not be able to easily defer uninclude of #ifdef'd includes. The #defer #uninclude looks more cursed, that's why I went with it :D But you are right a #defer ... #e
