She grew up in Milan, Illinois, and completed her undergraduate degree at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois with a Bachelors of Art in Biology. Dr. Lape then made the very difficult decision to move 1,600 miles away from her friends and family to attend dental school at Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine in Glendale, Arizona. Dr. Lape loved going to the dentist growing up, and always loved to watch what her dentist did through a mirror. As she grew up, that same passion inspired her to go onto dental school and combine her loves of science and art. Dr. Lape and her soon-to-be husband, Dr. Kellan Schisler met on their first day in dental school, and instantly bonded over their love for hiking and sand volleyball. They have adopted two adorable cats together, Moose and Cheeto, and are excited to start their new adventure in Oklahoma together!
