  • Brand Logo UpdateReplaced black logo with a transparent white version for a cleaner look.
  • Navbar Accessibility TriggerMoved accessibility trigger to navbar for improved visibility.
  • Tbot ImprovementsImplemented mark-sanity clamp and email alerts for operators.

Today was a marathon build day that stretched a solid 16 hours, but I made significant strides in enhancing the accessibility features of #SPACE and refining the brand's visual identity. I shipped four key features, focusing on improving user experience across the board. The most exciting addition is a site-wide accessibility widget that provides users with customizable profiles, text controls, and color filters. This feature is crucial for ensuring that #SPACE is usable for everyone, regardless of their abilities.

The accessibility widget is positioned as a tab on the left edge of the screen. When users click it, a panel slides out, offering four distinct profiles designed for different needs: a reading focus mode with a pointer-following ruler, a calm motion option, a keyboard-first interface, and general accessibility settings. Each profile is crafted to make the browsing experience smoother for users who require additional support. I spent a good chunk of time ensuring the widget is intuitive and easy to navigate, which is essential for its success.

In addition to the accessibility widget, I moved the accessibility trigger into the navbar button cluster, where it now sits alongside the theme and menu buttons. This change was about visibility and ease of access; users should be able to find what they need without hassle. I also ensured that when any accessibility aid is active, a blue ring appears around the icon, providing a visual cue that enhances usability for all.

On the branding side, I replaced the existing black logo with a transparent white version across the navbar, footer, and proposal sections. The goal was to create a cleaner, more modern look that aligns with the overall design philosophy of #SPACE. By un-compositing the black background from the existing artwork, I managed to maintain the integrity of the glyphs while presenting a visually lighter logo. It took time to get the transparency just right, but I’m pleased with the result. The new logo feels more inviting and aligns with the accessibility improvements I am implementing.

One of the more technical features I worked on today was the mark-sanity clamp for the tbot. This improvement includes email alerts for operators and a tick for unattended entries. I encountered some sticky issues with decimals and broken quotes that led to a significant miscalculation in equity values. It was an interesting debugging journey, but I managed to sanitize equity caps effectively, ensuring that every open position's mark is capped at 10x its open cost. This will help in maintaining accuracy and reliability for users relying on the tbot.

Reflecting on today’s efforts, I’m proud of the progress made. Each feature shipped plays a part in my vision for #SPACE. Accessibility is not just a checkbox for me; it’s a core value that I want to embed in the DNA of the platform. Today’s work reinforces that commitment. I also appreciate the flexibility of using AI as my coding partner. While I might have spent a long day coding solo, having Claude Code in VS Code allowed me to tackle challenges more efficiently without the overhead of hiring a team. It’s a reminder that with the right tools, one person can achieve a lot.

This journey of building #SPACE is a marathon, not a sprint, and I’m excited about what lies ahead. Each feature I implement not only enhances the platform but also brings me closer to my goal of creating a one-man-show company with a billion-dollar valuation. The path is fraught with challenges, but every bug squashed and every feature shipped is a step in the right direction. I’m looking forward to continuing this momentum and seeing how users respond to the new accessibility features and branding enhancements. Each interaction will provide invaluable feedback that I can use to iterate further and refine the experience for everyone.
