Trading Bot Enhancements: Slippage, Auto-Buy, and UI Updates — July 27, 2026
I enhanced my trading bot with slippage settings, auto-buy features, and improved UI. Learn about the challenges and progress I made today.
What shipped
- 5% Slippage Setting — Users can now override slippage settings based on market conditions.
- Auto-Buy Feature — One-click live auto-buy allows the bot to pick tokens automatically.
- UI Improvements — Enhanced interface with side-by-side panels for better usability.
- Fixed Endpoint Bug — Resolved TypeError in live buys by updating the API endpoint.
- Autoscan Toggle — Scan every 30 seconds and buy the first qualifying token.
Today, I set out to enhance my trading bot with several pivotal features, primarily focusing on slippage handling, auto-buy functionality, and overall user interface improvements. In just a solid three-hour session, I shipped nine new features and one fix that significantly elevate the bot's capabilities and user experience. The result is a more robust tool that can better serve traders in the fast-paced world of cryptocurrency.
One of the standout features I implemented is a 5% slippage setting that can be overridden based on the environment. This was crucial for traders who need to manage their risk effectively in volatile markets. Alongside this, I added concise error messages for swap transactions, making it easier for users to understand what went wrong if a transaction fails. I wanted to ensure that the bot not only performs well but also communicates effectively with the user.
While working on the interface, I created side-by-side boxed panels for auto-scan and auto take-profit features. This design choice allows users to see their options clearly and make informed decisions rapidly. I placed the input fields above the action buttons for better accessibility, which should streamline the user experience. I also updated the UI to include a green live box with scan animations, which adds a dynamic touch to the interface and helps keep users engaged.
A significant bug I encountered today was related to an outdated DNS for the Jupiter endpoint used in the bot. This issue caused a TypeError: fetch failed during live buys. After diagnosing the problem, I redirected the endpoint to the new lite-api.jup.ag/swap/v1, which resolved the issue. It's always a bit frustrating to hit these roadblocks, but troubleshooting is part of the journey. This fix was essential to ensure users could make transactions without interruption.
In terms of functionality, I implemented a one-click live auto-buy feature where the bot picks the token automatically. This is a game-changer for users who may not have the time to monitor the market constantly. Coupled with the new live-mode UI copy, it creates a seamless experience for traders. I also dropped the liquidity wall for small-cap trades from 100k to 2k, allowing more flexibility for users engaging with emerging tokens. Additionally, I capped the learn loop at 5k, which should help in optimizing performance without overwhelming the system.
To further streamline the experience, I removed simulated sections that previously cluttered the interface, such as practice runs and journals. Now, the live page shows only real data, which is critical for traders looking to make informed decisions based on their actual trading performance. I also added an autoscan toggle that allows the bot to scan every 30 seconds and buy the first qualifying token it identifies. This should greatly enhance the speed at which users can capitalize on market opportunities.
I spent a considerable amount of time refining the styling as well, widening the page to a max-width of 5xl and docking the DJ Max tab on the trading-bot page. These changes were not just aesthetic; they were aimed at creating a more user-friendly environment that encourages engagement and ease of use.
Reflecting on these enhancements, I’m reminded of the unique challenges and rewards of building this project solo, with AI as my team. Using Claude Code in VS Code rather than relying on costly collaboration tools has allowed me to keep my focus and resources directed toward product development. Each feature shipped today brings me one step closer to my vision of a one-man-show company with a billion-dollar valuation. With every bug fixed and every feature enhanced, I’m building not just a trading bot, but a robust agentic web platform that empowers users in the crypto space.
As I wrap up today’s build, I’m excited about the direction this project is heading. The progress is tangible, and while there’s still a long road ahead, I’m proud of what I accomplished in just one session. Tomorrow, I’ll continue to iterate on these features and look for more ways to enhance the trading experience further. The journey of building in public is challenging but incredibly rewarding, and I look forward to sharing more updates as I push forward.
