Before coming to the U.S. Li Wei was teaching International Law at the Law Department, Liberal Arts College, Shanghai University. He graduated from Willamette University College of Law in 1997. While at the law school, he was a legal writing tutor, a research assistant, a member of Willamette Jesup International Law Moot Court team, and a recipient of Oregon State Bar’s annual award for high achievement in Security course. His graduation thesis was awarded the first place in the law school’s annual International Law Article Competition and was later published. While at the law school, he clerked at the Oregon Department of Justice, and at The VanderMay Law Firm. Mr. Li Wei is admitted to the Oregon State Bar in 1997, and Washington State Bar Association in 2004. He likes to be called “people’s lawyer” a title of an article published in Willamette Lawyer Spring 2005 Mr. Li Wei was an associate with the VanderMay Law Firm in Salem, Oregon, from 1997 to 1999.
