Footer Improvements & Downloads Page Enhancements — July 14, 2026

Today, I set out to enhance the usability and accessibility of my platform by improving the footer and the downloads page. In a focused hour of development, I shipped several features that not only streamline navigation but also surface essential tools for users. I trimmed down the Product column in the footer and made sure to highlight the VS Code and Cursor extensions on the downloads page. The goal was to provide a cleaner interface while ensuring users can easily find the tools they need.

The first significant change was the trimming of the Product column in the footer. I dropped a few items that weren’t adding much value to the user experience, specifically the browser, radio, star maps, and the LLM sighting tracker. While these tools had their merits, they were cluttering the footer and detracting from the key offerings I want to highlight. It was a tough decision, but I believe that less is more in this case. The footer should serve as a quick reference, not a comprehensive list of every feature. This change frees up space and makes the remaining links more prominent and easier to navigate.

Next, I focused on linking orphaned pages in the footer. This was an essential step in enhancing the overall user experience. Pages like citizens, swarm, compute, radio, seo-audit, and aeo were left unlinked, which meant users couldn’t easily find valuable content. By creating these links, I’m ensuring that visitors can discover all the resources available to them without having to dig through the site. This is a small but vital improvement that can significantly impact user engagement and retention.

The final piece of today’s work was surfacing the VS Code and Cursor extensions in the downloads section. These tools are invaluable for developers who are using my platform, and it was critical to make them easily accessible.
