When you start an action whose final cost is uncertain, like a long agent task or a multi-message voice call, the platform places a hold (escrow) against your Gigi credits balance for the upper-bound estimate. When the action settles, the hold is converted to a real debit for the actual cost, and the unused portion is released back to spendable credits.
