When you start an action that has uncertain final cost — a long agent task, a multi-message voice call — the platform places a hold (escrow) against your Gigi credits balance for the upper-bound estimate. When the action settles, the hold is converted to a real debit for the actual cost, and the unused portion is released back to spendable credits.
