The spatial web

Spatial web

The layer of the internet tied to physical places, geometry, and devices, not just URLs.

The spatial web is the idea that the internet should be addressable not only by URL but also by location — a coordinate, a building, a city block. On hashtag.org, every #Name can pin itself to a real place, and visitors can search the map instead of (or in addition to) typing a URL. That is what makes it a spatial product, not just a directory.
