Software that holds your keys and signs transactions on a blockchain.

A crypto wallet is the app (browser extension, mobile app, or embedded inside hashtag.org via Privy) that holds your public/private keys and signs transactions on your behalf. The wallet does not store coins; it stores the keys that prove which coins on the chain are yours. On hashtag.org you can connect any popular wallet (Phantom, Rainbow, MetaMask, Backpack) or use the embedded wallet we create for you on signup.

Embedded wallet
A wallet auto-created at signup so you don't manage seed phrases on day one.
Private key
The secret that signs transactions; never share.
Public key / address
The "username" of your wallet; safe to share.
Self-custody
You, not a company, hold the private keys; nobody can freeze your funds.
